Ehm, sorry. Actually I opened tumblr to say that yesterday I found this contest about GoT 2 hours before its deadline… and so I couldn’t help but to sketch a little Dany.
(Even if I’m in love with Oberyn now, with the new season on tv these days… *__* but I would have get distracted and it would have taken way more than two hours. :P )

For many years, we in fandom have had to suffer these kinds of dismissive, hurtful, and destructive attitudes from those who attack us because we like science fiction. Do not side with the bullies. Do not hold your own opinion in such high regard that you dismiss all others.

It is not shameful to like the Wheel of Time. No more than it should be shameful to be the kid who read Dune in middle school while others snickered. We should never have to feel embarrassed for honestly expressing our taste in fiction. No more than we should have to feel embarrassed to be the one at work who attends an sf con, much to the amusement of your co-workers.

CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING BECAUSE I CANNOT

To say I am excited about this is the understatement of the year,

I want this NOW!

Yesterday, at my english lesson, we talked about running a desert island. As my only mental reference was The Lord of the Flies, and it didn’t work so well there, I wasn’t very helpful. But it reminded me of these studies I made during the workshop with the wonderful Lorenzo Mattotti, a couple (or more) of years ago. I was working on how the objects in the story of the Lord of the Flies were evolving as the things went wrong… these are watercolors sketches on a moleskine, and the written parts are quotes from the book.

Sometimes is nice to re-discover the old things I have hidden in my hard disk…

I really want to thank the Wheel of Time fandom for the overwhelming feedback to the two sketches I shared a couple of days ago!!  Thank you so much!!! I was very shy about those, I really didn’t expect so much love! <3 <3

Since the WoT fandom is the best ever, I finally take courage and share these uncompleted sketches I made a lot of time ago (yeah, there is a “2012” written on those sketches… it’s the year, you know.)

Please be gentle, I know these are not really well done and definitely quite old, it’s just to share the love for the books! <3 <3
